Staff Sergeant Jon D. Harston distinguished himself through extraordinary heroism during the Vietnam War while serving as a Pararescueman. During a dangerous rescue mission, Harston repeatedly risked his life to recover and provide medical care to wounded personnel despite intense enemy fire and hazardous conditions.
