Staff Sergeant Charles L. Schaub
Staff Sergeant Charles L. Schaub earned the Air Force Cross for extraordinary heroism during the Vietnam War. Serving as a Pararescueman, he repeatedly placed himself in extreme danger while conducting combat rescue operations in hostile territory. Despite intense enemy fire and hazardous conditions, Schaub remained committed to recovering and treating wounded personnel, placing the lives of others above his own safety. His courage, skill, and unwavering devotion to duty reflected the highest traditions of the United States Air Force and the Combat Rescue community.
